I challenge you to (come to) a duel! So the March 31st show at Cowboy Monkey will be the release of Cameo Turret's next CD titled "You Bring It With You". It's got 12 songs on it so you can put them on your iPod, listen, and then fill out this questionnaire:

It sounds ok?   (circle one)

yes  /  no  /  maybe

Don't forget that The Chemicals will also be unveiling their new work of art. Us and them. Them and us. Us and you. You and me. It's a duel CD Release party! Thats two CD releases for the price of one!

Let's go bananas...

One more month and it would have been a year since the last update. Geez. Just to give y'all a little update, we now have Daabs playing bass in this band which is perfect. He is good stuff and also adds a couple of cool points to our total. I think Cameo Turret is now at like a negative 12, so we're movin on up.

So if you missed his debut on the 3rd you will have another chance. We are playing the Chemicals CD Release Show at Cowboy Monkey on the 31st of March. Come on out and dance and rock and meet Daabs and buy the Chemicals CD and have a good time. See you in a bit.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the people that came out to our show at Cowboy Monkey. We hope you had as much fun as we did. I:scintilla and Sounddrifter both rocked and we made available our 8 song EP titled Withdraw. We hope you enjoy that as we try to get that full length out we promised you... When will that be? Who knows. Until then.

Whoa! Sorry for the dry spell of news updates! Hope everybody is safe and sound and as excited about things to come as we are. Remember that CD we were working on a while back? Well, we will be pressing a small number of EPs with the songs which will be available in the very near future, promise.

But really, why are we excited you exclaim? Because we have been recording much new material that sounds slightly terrible and we get excited about mediocrity. Just kidding, we love it and are stoked about letting you listeners get a taste of what is in store for yourselves. Our good friend Clem played the bass section on the new material, but unfortunately he moved to Oregon to pursue a real job. I mean who does that? And who has heard of Oregon? It must be in another country, because I for one, have no clue where that is. Its a shame we never got to do a live show with Clem... but stay tuned as we will reveal plans on releasing our collaborations with him. Perhaps check our Myspace, things may just pop up there sooner than you think.

Get a taste of our new stylings live at our upcoming show with local flavour i:scintilla and Chicago's very own Sounddrifter. We are going to be there so you should be too, so see you soon.

Hey Hey-

We're back in action! We'll be playing in the beer garden of Mike 'n Molly's for The Opportunists final show on July 16th. Triple Whip will also be in attendance rounding out the set with their new drummer Jane, who is amazing. It is sure to be a rockin time. We still have a few free samplers with songs off our upcoming album, so if you want one you'll have to show up. All the songs can be found on our Myspace page, but just in case you wanted a hard copy with some amazing stamp artwork you can pick one up... hooray! Maybe we'll see you there friend!

5.05.05

Hey all, hope everyone's year has been going well thus far! Have we been busy lately. As you can see, we have a new site and new member as well. If you have been out to any of our shows lately you may have noticed our amazing new bass player. Bethany has quickly and easily jumped right in with us with her impressive skills on bass and has been performing with us as of late. We welcome her addition with open arms and look forward to the good times ahead. As we wrap up our new album to be released in the near future feel free to check out some sample material we have provided at our myspace account.

Just in case you didn't already know, Rachel will be performing May 26th with Joanna Michal as an acoustic duo at Aroma Cafe. Showtime is 8pm and its free so really, why wouldn't you be there?

       See you soon friend!

Tomorrow we will be playing with Relenter at Nargile once again. Make sure you come out to see this band. Relenter is a wealth of talent that should not be missed. We would like to thank Chris, Rob, and Kenny for their continuing support of us. They are Openingbands "Band of the Month" for the month of April. If you haven't already checked it out then click here immediately.

Hello! So what has Cameo Turret been up to? We've been working hard playing every show we can get. We played an open mic in early November last year at the Cowboy Monkey where we were well received. We put on a acoustic show at Aroma Cafe later that month as well. Just last night we did our first show as a whole band in Champaign at Nargile with Chicago rock band Mock Romeo and locals Red Cloud. Lots of people we knew, and many we didn't, showed up and it turned out to be a great time.

Lately our hands have been full with other things too. We recorded a full length CD in January; keep your eyes peeled for its release sometime this summer. We're all really excited about everything that is going on and we hope to see you out at one of our shows. Check back often for updates and upcoming show info.
